Pinball Countdown – A Day at the Carnival

The PBS Sesame Street Pinball Number Count (or Pinball Countdown). Segment #2 – A Day at the Carnival recreated in 3D animation.

I chose to painstakingly recreate this classic animation from my childhood for a couple of reasons. For one, I absolutely love it. It’s such a funky and creative cartoon. Secondly, I took it as a challenge to see if I could pull it off. It turned out to be so much fun modeling each scene and animating the pinball. I’m pleased with the result, although I do not think I will be recreating the other number segments anytime soon.

The music was composed by Walt Kraemer, arranged by Ed Bogas, vocals by The Pointer Sisters, and Andy Narell on steel drums. It was recorded in 1976 and it debuted in Feb ’77.

Tower Project

Here is a sample of some recent archviz concept work I completed for a tower project in my city. The goal was to create some photo-realistic renderings of the project for marketing purposes.

I utilized a DJI Phantom 4 Pro Advanced drone for the exterior view photography and ambient lighting. Blender for the modeling. Cycles for rendering.

Restaurant with a View

Here I was tasked with conceptualizing a restaurant with a view. I was given dimensional plans for a large empty space with an adjacent patio overlooking Spokane Falls. The rest was up to me. I went with tiered seating areas to allow all tables to be able to enjoy the view.

Commerce Park Archviz

Some more renders for a couple different industrial commerce parks. One in California and another in Washington. The buildings are very similar as they are for the same property owner.

Visualizing Construction Projects

Here’s a current industrial construction project in Portland, Oregon. The project manager reached out to me for some 3d renderings so they could visualize the building. I rendered the scene with three different world light settings so they could see the paint colors in different lighting.

Grouse Tail Ridge Fire Lookout

I modeled this Fire Lookout structure using plans from a 1938 United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service – Standard Lookout Structure Plans document. I then built the environment around it and tried to tell a little story about the worker who lives there. The rotating time-lapse segment that starts at :30 seconds is an achievement that I am quite proud of.
